Don’t forget to enter to win the $200 Target Gift Card now through Christmas!
Lamaze is best known for its breathing technique for birthing moms, but now offers so much more. Today they’re giving away one of their amazing toys, the Discover the Sea Carousel (a $55 value!).
Discover the Sea Carousel grows with baby from soother to floor toy. Colorful sea creatures dance around peek-a-boo scenes lulling baby to sleep. Music length can be set from 10-40 minutes and is reactivated when baby cries.
The popular line of Lamaze toys and the new body care products and maternity intimates product lines help support Lamaze childbirth education and advocacy. You can find out more about healthy, safe, and natural choices for pregnancy and childbirth from Lamaze International.
Courtney, our resident baby product reviewer, loved the toys from Lamaze, as did baby Maddy:
Lamaze makes great toys for infants and children. Their bright and vibrant colors attract my baby’s attention, such as the Lamaze Discover the Sea Carousel. It lights up and plays music for up to 40 minutes! This is the perfect crib toy to put on at night while putting her to sleep, because the music lasts longer than other crib toys I have tried.
It’s also cry activated to play music and light up if she makes noise. What I love most about this toy is that it grows with her from a crib toy to a floor toy when she’s big enough to sit up. Lamaze toys also promote learning like the Celeste the Sun, with its different shapes and colors. I’ve attached it to her car seat and she becomes so engaged by it when she sees the different colors. I really like these learning toys by Lamaze.

Sadly, I ended up having to have an emergency c-section. But two people really made it a much more wonderful experience: my dad and my anesthesiologist. During the surgery, (and I think many women feel this way) I began to feel a tiny bit like a failure. My anesthesiologist was by my face and while monitoring me and watching the procedure he kept saying the phrase “your baby is about to be born!” or “he’s being born right now” and just those simple words made me feel so happy, like even though this wasn’t the way we wanted to do things it was still special and magical. And then while I was trembling in recovery (an awful feeling and probably the worst aspect of having a c) my dad snuck in and brought me the camera to show me the already millions of photos he had taken of Jack. There I was passing in and out of consciousness and my dad was by my side with tears in his eyes telling me how beautiful Jack was. He showed me so many pictures and it warmed me from my heart to my icy toes.

My daughter was born on Easter Sunday or, in my husband’s world, Masters (golf tournament) Sunday. During the entire labor process we watch the Masters final round!!! My husband is a huge golf fan and it really was a wonderful distraction to try to follow the shots between each contraction!!! The best part was he was never really distracted by the tournament unless I needed the distraction too!!! He was just so wonderful!!!!! We will never forget it!!!!
This give away would be wonderful for our little Master’s girl!!!!

After 19 hours of labor, my daughter seemed like she was ready to finally come out. Since I had been in labor for so long my doctor was going back and forth from her office in a couple buildings over to me in the hospital. At this point she was supposed to be on her way back to me because I was dilated all of the way so the nurses had me push until my daughter was right THERE and well, then they told me I had to stop pushing and wait for the doctor… I couldn’t believe my ears. After all of that work they wanted me to wait who knows how long until my doctor got back. well I didn’t think it was possible so I asked the nurses what would happen if I delivered before she got back and they said that they were trained to deal with that if it happened. That was all I needed to hear. she was born three minutes later and the doctor came fifteen minutes after that.

When my daughter was born this past July I wasn’t even sure I was in labor. I had contractions but they were tolerable. I went the the hospital to get checked and I was dilated to 8cm!! I delivered her about two hours later. It wasn’t painful thanks to the epidural.
