Win Sprig Toys’ Story Building Barnyard
Posted by Give DaddyCongratulations to MAY, winner of the Oh Nuts giveaway!
When I went to Type A Mom, I was excited to see Sprig Toys set up. The toys are a far cry from the battery powered, noisy toys that have gathered dust at our house (and yours too I’m willing to bet). They stimulate creative play, and they’re made of recycled products and reclaimed wood to boot. Color me impressed. But do they stand up to our resident toy tester’s rigorous examination? Read on. But first, read more about Sprig Toys and their Story Building Barnyard that they want to give you.
Grab your hat! Ol’ Mac is up and ready for a day of work on the farm! Join Farmer Bernie and build your very own barnyard adventure! Easy to build panels and blocks allow preschoolers to build quickly. This earth friendly playset contains over 95 pieces of story-building fun.
Playset Includes:
24 Large Story Blocks
10 Small Character Blocks
1 Farmer Character with Removable Hat
62 Printed Panel Pieces
Blocks are made from Sprigwood, a bio-composite made from recycled plastic and reclaimed wood, and the panels are made from recycled cardboard printed with water based inks… no need to worry about icky toxic chemicals here!
The Story Blocks are an easy way to build, tear down and build again countless stories, firing active imaginations. So get your hoe, grab your hat and join us for the adventure.
The Review
This giveaway was a lot of fun to review. Our resident toy tester, Max, was very excited to see the different “friends,” as he called them, as well as the animals and barn parts. The kit comes in a flat box and you pop out the cardboard pieces. From there, the sky’s the limit. You can connect different pieces together to make your own story fun.
My only wish is that the cardboard pieces locked into the red plastic story blocks better. We moved them out of the way and had to reconstruct. Here’s Max’s take on it.

I teach a class for young children who would love this set! It would be fantastic to use in our next unit on plants and flowers because they can “play” with the farmer to plant, cultivate, and harvest crops.
